Love this list! Thanks Anne. Your reading recommendations have made my year better. I read Long Bright River after seeing your tweet and loved it! Looking forward to more great reads in 2021.
Oh my goodness, the Sperry boots. I bought a pair when I was just barely pregnant as I was afraid of slipping on the ice. Kiddo is now 3.5 and I wore them out to play in the snow yesterday. Has to be one of my all time best purchases.
Apropos of the things that you've bought this year that helped, I've been thinking a lot about those weird moments this year when retail therapy really was therapeutic. For me it was slippers with arch support, and Patagonia polar fleece pants*, both of which have filled me with thanksgiving every time I put them on, for the comfort they've given me in a year singularly devoid of comfort (even on the very easy setting, which my pandemic year has been).
*the last item horrified my inner teenager who went to a school where there was a really clear and sharp divide between the haves and the have nots, and that divide was signified in name brand polar fleece.
