we often do a kind of pan-pizza-bake for our 11 yr old - can or jar of tuna or leftover meat, sauteed with onion/courgette/whatever, add tomato puree and mozarella and dried oregano, shove pan under the grill. You can use up lots of bits in it and it always goes down well.
